Irrespective of the objectives of your business web site, a few basic principles should be
applied to ensure that your site is effectively reaching its target audience.
Design:
Montana Publishing takes pride in its effective use of the current HTML language to create web sites and pages that are not
only visually appealing but that are technically sound as well.
We believe that single-colour or subtle backgrounds that do not interfere with the foreground text is one of the primary
components of superior site design. Attempting to 'jazz' up a site with loud background images works only to distract the
visitor, causes eye fatigue and eventually encourages them to leave your site.
We design graphics that are easy to read and easy to use. By working with colours that complement one another, in conjunction
with any of the client's existing marketing materials, we develop sites where text, graphics and logos work together to
provide a visually appealing web presence.
Layout:
Easy navigation throughout the site is also very important. If a visitor cannot find an order form or
email link, they often become frustrated and opt to leave in search of a site that is easier to navigate.
A key to sound layout is to be able to bring a visitor to the most remote pages of your site and have them feel that they are
only one 'click' away from home.
A web site can make a small, two-man organization look like a multinational corporation if the site's content is organized and
easy to navigate. Alternatively, a large company's web site can be useless if it fails to meet its objectives by properly
encouraging visitors towards the ultimate goal, whether it be sales, requests for information, subscription inquiries,
etc.
